Having finally returned to solid ground (Aloha, Hawaii), I broke my '78 CT90 out of storage with the intent to get it back to daily-driver status. I found it behind a friend's place, and was able to take it home after a quick exchange of goods. I got it running, and was able to ride it around for about a year before storage (back in '08-'09), but it was always a little temperamental. Unloading it here in Arizona, I knew I had my work cut out for me. I had the cylinder rehoned, new SLA battery pack in place, fresh gas and tuned the engine to perfection. Finally got it started and running okay. Seemed like I had carb issues...years ago I had purchased a replacement carb from dratv. Breaking down on me this past week was sort of the last straw. It was a bittersweet decision to drop the engine out and order something a little more modern.
Here she is right after arriving:
I was able to sell the engine over the weekend and order fancy Lifan parts. I'll keep this post updated with pictures of the process.
