Please use our "Member Introduction" category for new forum members to introduce themselves and give a little information about themselves.
This is not the place to start new member introductions.
The overall basic idea here is to have an easy way for forum members to find other CTer's that live near them based on their location (details only down to the city, state or province level, and if outside the U.S., your country, no street address or email addresses).
This "Forum Member's Location Reference Database" category is not intended to be a place to continue any conversations.
With the forum settings properly adjusted, no new messages are allowed.
If you have a question for a forum member with a thread in this Forum Member's Location Database, it would be best to just send the original message poster a Private Message, by finding the "More" under the user name of the person you want to contact, and then select "Message Me", compose your new question and send it.
You will need to be a forum member with at least 10 messages before you can access the Forum Member's Location Reference Database.
This is done to prevent "spam advertising by phony members" from gaining access to the database and sending tons of private messages to our CT90-CT110 Forum members.
We've recently had this issue.
Please don't make a bunch of "test" or otherwise phony messages, to just "up your message count", as this type of activity is also not desired on our forum.
We may sense that you are a phony forum member and you may get banned forever.
The best thing to do is become a fully functioning forum member by making "real" messages about CT's.
If we continue to have issues, a "time sensitive" restriction can also be placed into effect, requiring a month or more of forum membership before access is granted.
As a new forum member another thing to do is make a new thread in the "Member Introduction" category (as noted above). You may receive some messages in your thread from other members, some of which may be in your area of the world. Make sure to place your location in the thread title.
You can also achieve the minimum 10 message count by making new threads showing any work you have done on your CT, or if you have any trip reports from your area of the world.
If you are adding photos to any of your threads, there is no restriction on the number of photos in a single message, so, please don't "pad" your thread doing only one photo per message to increase your message count.
Navigation within this sub-category environment is a little problematic, as the normal navigation rules don't seem to work in all directions, so, here are some extra directions on how to move around within the sub-categories.
There are several levels: the main overall category, the country sub-categories, and then the 3rd and lowest level of sub-category, for the states or provinces within each country.
To go DOWN into the sub-categories, simply click on the sub-category for each level down.
To come UP out of a sub-category, one sub-category at a time, use your browser's BACK button.
To come ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE FORUM MAIN PAGE, use the "Mark Forum Read" text button on the top right side of any sub-category.
There have been some issues moving the old introduction threads into the new "Forum Member's Location Reference Database".
No location mentioned or unspecific location mentioned in any of the messages in the introduction thread.
Sometimes a forum member does not say where they live.
Sometimes a forum member says they live in a certain country, but, not the state of province, which is not specific enough as most countries are big places.
So, your personal introduction thread may be in the "Unknown Location" sub-category if you only gave the country in which you live and not the state or province, or any location. If that it the case, send me a Private message and I'll move your thread back to the original Member Identification & Introduction" category so you can make the needed editing to declare your location to the state or province level.
Removing your Member Introduction thread
If you find yourself in the "Forum Member's Location Reference Database" and want to "OPT OUT", just send me a Private Message and I'll remove your introduction thread as soon as possible.
