I am a happy new owner of a 72 CT90 that I rescued from a RV dealership, the front forks leaked and the previous owner had intentions of fixing it as it also sat with some replacement parts for the front end pulled off a red 90. So after getting all the cobwebs out of it and getting it running, I decided to tear into the front end. The front forks were rusted in, I did get one out with relative ease with turning the pinch bolt in backwards with a piece of metal. After putting it all back together with the best stuff out of the four shocks I had I found that I messed up the pinch bolt area by bending it out, nothing is broken just bent enough to strip my bolt out and half the threads inside the tree.
So at this point can I just get an longer bolt and a locking nut to bend it back to hold my front shock in or any other trick to get this to work for the summer?
