Just got a 1967 CT90 that appears almost identical to the one I owned new back when I was much younger. Memory fails me as to whether my bike back then was a
67 or 68. The only noticable difference is the little lever to change the high/low range on my current bike is a thin little paltry piece of metal that hurts
one's fingers to move. It's almost a joke as if to say "We really don't want you to use this."
On the bikes I've seen and had since the lever was larger, longer and beefer and 3 sided shape instead flat. A schematic I've seen shows both levels for the 67 with only an engine number designating which one came with it. I've examined visually a number of the levers and shafts that go up into the sub-transmission and the shafts appears to be indentical. I'd like to replace the lousy one with one that is easier to use.
Any comments on the feasiblity of this?
