FWIW , the stretched cam chain retards the cam timing more than you'd think so replacing it also crisps up the whole power band and throttle response .

I also rode the red 90 to the beer store to gas up. A s you may recall the 90s had me on the ropes. I replaced the muffler on the red 90 with a used ebay jobber along with a Yuasa batt, new throttle and front brake cable, new air filter, fresh oil, used tires and tubes, rinsed tank, new lines and filters and rebuilt the carb only once. The throttle action sucks major still and the bike idles too high or not at all but I still put a merciless 7 miles on it tonite. The 90 pulls just as hard as the 110 it seems, kind of rip if you ask me. All the lights work so I am nearly done with this one. I am leaving this one in rusty dusty barnfind condition and only doing what needs to be done to go, turn and stop. So Barney it is. The yellow 90 got the carb looked into again to find the small jet reclogged after initial cleaning but made no difference. I saw a new chow-mix carb on ebay that has the high altitude knob and the square bowl, may try that one at 104$.

I rode Barney around the hood for about 10 miles, nothing new to report except maybe the clutch is getting old, seems to slip a little when hot. So I have a Vesrah kit on the way from the Dr. The speedo had me at 90mph in a 30mph zone so I guess it runs well. Have any of you hit 90mph on your CT? Yah I guess you all have.

Rotella 15w-40 T/Triple Protection (like for diesel engines) is great stuff and is truly non-synthetic, its now even rated for motorcycle use. I've got a 5gal jug of the stuff from my local COOP for a lot less than what the equivalent amount in quarts of the cheapest oil that my local parts store carries.

It still has big blue crackling spark, the valves may have been a twick loose but sure not tight, it gets fuel, new air filter, timing plate is at the same spot as the red 90, carb adjusted same as red 90, new Yuasa batt. I have done the same stuff to two bikes only 1189 serial numbers apart, the one that looks like junk runs like a top. I rode it again today. The one that looks near new won't run for anything. So I will start swapping carbs around and see what I can see. If nothing else I can part out the yellow 90. You think I'm pissed yet?
