Thought some of you might be interested in this...
A few of us down here in Australia did a track day at the Marulan Driver Training Centre (www.mdtc.com.au) on Sunday the 25th October, near Goulburn, NSW.
The event was put on by the CanberraRIDERS group, http://new.canberrariders.org.au/, and was an Introductory ride day intended to give people exposure to riding on the track.
After loading up into the trailer on Saturday evening, Sunday morning 4:15am saw me heading down to the Marulan Driver Training Centre near Goulburn (travelling from Gosford, so ~3hrs)
They organised:
- 2 Blue groups for track newbies - escorted
- 2 Green groups for those wanting to give it a bit more of a go (slow & fast)
- 2 fast groups (yellow and red) for those track experienced.
For the specators there was a stunt demonstration by CunningStunts, and a Postie Challenge was organised (hence my involvement), which was a blast and consisted of:
- a Lemans style running start - run to pic up a hi-vis vest, put it on, gear up, start the bike, and go
- do one lap, stop and pick up a letter
- do another lap, stop and have morning tea (mars bars are hard to eat fast!)
- do another lap, stop and deliver the letter
- do another lap, and finish
The little Kawonda played escort for the Blue groups, ran in the slow Green group and won the Postie Challenge! After a neck and neck drag up the straight on the last lap - awesome fun ;)
There were 4 starters for the postie challenge, and one non-starter.
