The progress of retrofitting the Lifan 125 into my Honda CT 110, is coming along nicely. I am down to the wiring hookups. I am needing some confirmation/guidance on this part of the project. I have a wiring diagram for my 1980 CT110, but I do not have anything for the Lifan.. I have read through the forums, but each engine it seems is uniqe to itself. Some are using Lifan 140's, others, 110's and a few are using the 125's, but not all the engines are created equal. Some have different stators, etc. Hence, why I need some guidance. I have the engine wire loom and then I have the wire looms that attach to the CDI Box and coil. On the engine harness, I have: A yellow, a green, a blue/white, a red/black, a light green/red and a white. I know that the yellow is lighting as is white? The green is a ground, the blue/white goes to the cdi, as does the red/black. The light green/red is my neutral switch. From the CDI or the other loom(s), I have the blue/white, a green and a red/black. I know all those match up to the engine harness. I also have another green and a black/white by themselves. That green is also a ground and the black/white is coil power. Now, I still have my stock 6 volt battery and lighting.. I know, I know.. John Pardue, says to go to 12volt.. I would, but all my lights and battery are brand new. I would like to keep or reuse this stuff if I can, rather than spend another $100.00. I purchased the 6 volt rectifier kit from Dr. ATV that supposedly lets me use my 6 volt stuff with the 12 volt Lifan engine. Therefore, I still need to sort that aspect out. That is why I am here looking for guidance and confirmation that I have things set up properly. I know I will need to run my headlight right from my battery and not use the yellow or white wire from the engine harness. What I do not know.. Is how to setup the charging circuit to charge the battery.. Ie.. What wires connect to the rectifire? Do I do anything with the yellow or white? Is the white the wire that goes to the rectifier and the yellow WOULD have been just headlight (if I was 12v)? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
