What parts will I need to install the Lifan 125 into my 1980 CT 110? I know I need the Rear Motor Mount Adapter. I will need the Foot Peg Adapter. I know I need to replace the drive sprocket. I know I need a voltage rectifier. I want to keep things 6 volt for my lights and battery, as all that stuff is new and in good working order. (I know Jon P. recommends converting to 12 volt, but I just spent over $80.00 on lights and a battery trying to get the original engine and stuff running and everything working properly. Sadly, for every step forward I have taken in trying to sort out all the issues with the original engine, I take two steps back. It actually runs really well, just doesn't shift properly. I have rebuilt the clutch pack, replaced numerous parts and still cannot get it to shift smoothly. The bike has almost 12,000 miles on it and has been abused prior to my ownership. The Shift stop lever bolt boss was broken off the right engine case and there is JB Weld smeared all over various parts of the engine. I tig welded up some things, but I think the shift pins or others things are worn within the gear box. It will cost me more in the long run to tear the engine down and repair it, than to just move on. I currently, have about $180.00 into the engine now, but know that I will triple that if I break it down to try and solve the shifting issues. In either case, getting back to the Lifan 125 install. I know I need to do some rewire work on things. I have not found a wire diagram yet where someone has wired up the 125 to a 1980 CT110, but I will figure that out and perhaps. I can draw up and post the changes I make for everyone else. If there is anyone here who can shed some light on things that I will need to do or parts that I will need to have. Please feel free to chime in. Thank you.
