Sounds like you're nearly there ~ .

The valves should be set to .002" , .005" is way too lose as valve gaps affect valve timing .

Be sure to time it to the " F " mark , not the 'T' mark , an easy to make mistake ,90 + % of the Honda I get in , are mis timed to the 'T' mark , the retards the timing causing easy starting but reduced power & economy plus running too hot .

Next , look at what size the main jet is as they're often the smaller " break in " jet (typically a # 62 or so) and you'll love the power and improved off idle performance provided by having the correct size jet .

Lastly , remember : the idle mixture screw can be either fuel -or- air bleed , depending on which carby your CT has : if the mixture screw is on the inlet side of the slide , it's an air bleed screw and turning it in richens the mixture , the reverse of what you expect .

If the mixture screw is on the engine side of the slide , it's a fuel bleed screw so turning it in leans the idle mixture .

Have fun and don't forget to open the spark plug gap to .030" for better running .

I had fun last night watching my Son ride my Grand Daughter around the back yard on his heavily modified Honda 50 , I don't know what model it is , a tiny little thing .
