Hey guys, just an update on my progress. I had hit a snag the other day. I had pulled the spark advancer and greased it, put it back in correctly, and then attempted to set the timing. Well the bike would not start after that, and the day before it was starting right up. Thinking I had messed up the timing I tried many times to adjust it and get it to start. I took the carb of twice and checked everything and it seemed fine. I was getting frustrated so I left the bike alone for two days. Today I started with a fresh mindset and decided to start with checking the advancer again. As I was unscrewing the bolt that holds it in place. I notice the advancer is just spinning like crazy on the cam shaft. I pulled it off, and that little nub that holds it in place had come out! Luckily it was still connected to the advancer but turned a weird angle so it wasn't catching on the shaft. I squeezed it back into place with pliers. But the bike still didn't want to start. One problem I had noticed is that my spring on the throttle slide is bent a little. I wasn't sure if that was an issue or not because it had run before like that. I started looking at the slide to replace that spring in there and the clip came out before I could see how it was assembled. I put it back together how I thought it should be and the bike started but went straight to WOT. I am just glad I got it to start finally, I have a spring and a new slide needle and clip I'm just not sure how to install them. I posted that question in the carb section just now.
