Hot Oil Change = run the engine until it's hot and all the crud in the crankcase is in suspension with the oil, turn the engine off, then before the oil cools off, drain it. Watch out for the hot oil on your skin. The idea is that the hot oil will carry away the crud that was in suspension.

To get the oil hot... some prefer to ride it for 10 minutes or so, (a fun activity), some just let it idle for 20 minutes or so.

Some of us do it a couple of times, with not many miles between hot oil changes. Once the oil comes out pretty much like it went in, clear and amber or whatever color it went in, then we're done.
