I just discovered that my 1970 K2 CT90 is actually a 1969 K1 CT90! When I bought the bike a couple months ago it was advertised a 1970. The title said 1970. The registration said 1970. When I went to the Ca. CHP for a VIN verification, no problem or mention that it's not a 1970. I didn't know about this site or the treasure trove of info here.

As you found out the year listed on the title is no indication of the year of manufacture (important for parts, huh?). Motorcycles are titled as the first year it was sold in most states.  Sometimes the motorcycle remained on the dealer showroom floor for another year or sometimes even longer. I've seen titles that show the year as 3 years after the date of manufacture.
