I installed my big bore kit two weeks ago and it's been quite a ride (literally and figuratively)!  After some fine tuning it was running like a bandit but was smoking a lot under power and at idle.  Seemed to be running a bit rich so I dropped the carb needle a notch.  Big mistake, after a high speed run to the store on the way back up a long hill it seized!  That's quite an adventure on a busy street. It started right back up so I slowly rode home.

I raised the needle two notches and now it's running great and no more smoke.  Hopefully no damage from the seize (maybe it helped seat the rings).  A local customer who races bikes (including Honda horizontals) advised on assembly to place a light coating of oil on the cylinder wall and do not lube piston and rings.  I had dipped piston in oil before assembly.

The bike is faster and climbs the Seattle hills faster.

I also had the side cases media blasted and put a clear urethane on same.
