I rode it over to Highland Park where Yaz was having another B.Y.O.C. Event where you bring your old grimy carby , take it apart and soak it a while in his ultrasonic cleaner thing , it cleans carbys better than the old TYME Dip tanks ever did and isn't carcinogenic nor will it kill your liver & kidneys .

As my carby was clean from the last event , I borrowed the multi-meter and began testing the voltage , it seemed O.K. but on the ride over I noticed if I turned on the headlight it'd skip a few beats and miss as the RPM's got really high .

I found one of the three coils in the alternator has 1/3 the resistance of the other two so I'm pretty sure this means the alternator stator is kaputi .

I also took the 1912 Maxwell Klaxon Horn apart and cleaned and tinkered it until once again it toots loudly enough to make folks jump and even toots with the engine off .

I also took the time to clean the three male alternator bullet connectors with the small wire brush that looks like a toothbrush ~ this make it run *so* well it never missed/skipped once on the ride home , I was able to once again ride it flat out with the headlight off , I zizzed through a radar trap @ 46 MPH , not bad for an old beat up CT90 hauling 240 # IMO .

Arriving home I dragged out an old CM91 engine with a broken crankshaft , it has the same bullet connectors so as soon as I get a chance I'll test the alternator coils and if they're all the same , I'll swap it over .

This is why the wise DIY'er always has a milk crate or cardboard box full of " junk " .

Paul , Jonny and another guy who's name I've forgotten were there and asking me questions about CT up fixin' and general Motocycle repair .

A good time indeed ! .
