Until you do so , you'll have continual battery problems and off and on poor running because the battery is the voltage regulator in these fine Motos and once it's over 12 months old or has been allowed to go dead , it needs replacing .

The water level in it too is critical ~ buy a small syringe and use it to keep the electrolyte levels right at the fill line and always use distilled water .

I did the Radio Shack Rectifier upgrade some time back, before I placed the bike away for a year. But, what's this about distilled water? I bought mine from the doctor and bought some battery acid locally and that's what I've been using. Am I doing it wrong? I was under the impression batteries used battery acid....
