Until you do so , you'll have continual battery problems and off and on poor running because the battery is the voltage regulator in these fine Motos and once it's over 12 months old or has been allowed to go dead , it needs replacing .

The water level in it too is critical ~ buy a small syringe and use it to keep the electrolyte levels right at the fill line and always use distilled water .

+1, my experience has been that a good battery is what makes my 90 a one kick wonder, when the battery is weak, he gets hard to start and will begin to misfire at the top end.
