After almost 37 years, my '76 has new shoes...rock on  Changed out the dry-rotted Yokahamas and replaced them with Shinko Golden Boys.  New tubes and rim straps, too!  I had one lonely spoke that had lost its nipple, so got a new one from the local Honda dealer.  Had a bit of rust on the inner rims, so I polished that off a bit with a scotchbrite pad and some oxalic acid.  Some final cleaning and the tires went on - that wasn't too bad of a process after reading a lot of the tire changing threads on this forum.

I also discovered after looking at the schematics that I am supposed to have an inner battery holder in the chamber...for some reason that wasn't present.  So I looked through my parts bin and found one that I had lying around - I probably had bought it for this exact reason but had forgotten.

I just have to replace the non-functioning front brake stop switch, and we should be ready to get registered and get riding out in the mountains this fall...
