Well I was riding some local trails today and a guy riding a CT110 ran into me. I was sitting at the end of a trail looking for places to shoot cans, and he just rolled up on me. I thought it was a local going to chase me off, until I realized we'd met before when he stopped to talk to me as I was on the side of the road. We checked eachother's bikes out, and then rode the trails for a bit, as we were both looking for an elusive lake down in the trees.

Unfortunately, as we parted ways and I headed home, I broke my throttle cable. The bike just crashed to idle while I was going up a hill, and I thought something bad happened until I pulled over to the side and it continued chugging along at idle. I had to take off the carb cap, pulled the needle assembly, and lo and behold the small brass throttle cable stop was sitting in the carb. The needle assembly kept it from being sucked into the cylinder. I managed to get the brass stop back onto the throttle cable, and gave it a squeeze with some pliers. It was good enough to get me a few miles, then it broke again just before a convenience store. Repeated the cycle over again, and was able to get all the way home.

Now I'm wondering.. New throttle cable, or attempt to solder the brass stop onto the existing cable? I don't know if it was originally welded, or soldered.
