I installed a newly rebuilt Keihin carb and adjusted it and it seems to be running fine! I also changed the oil and installed Rotella 15w-40 (diesel truck oil). This oil is recommended on the KLR forums to run in the Kawasaki KLR650. I am going to try it in the CT; doesn't have the "slippy" additives so should be fine AND if so I only have to buy one type of oil for my motorcycles!!!

In addition I have had an oil leak for over a year in my primary CT (which NEVER leaked). I thought it started the last time I changed oil but wasn't sure, sometimes it is hard to determine WHERE the oil comes from. I did pull the drain plug and made a gasket of gasket paper but still the leak persisted. To me this is VERY annoying for a Japanese bike; it is not a 70's vintage Harley after all!

Anyway this time while changing oil I went to local motorcycle shop and for a buck purchased a "crush" washer. Installed that with the plug and new oil and now no oil leaks... So far. Hopefully a lesson to be learned here (DOH).
