This week I put new fork boots on.
I looked at the seals, but they where not leaking, so I left them alone.
The fork oil was a blueish-geen oil, but clean and clear, I wonder if it was the original oil? I put in 5W fork oil. I checked the other parts that I took off, and everything looked OK, but I did add some new lube to the speed-o gears and cleaned and lubed the speed-o cable. The cable now has easier and smoother operation. I suspended the speed-o cable hosing, and dripped 3in1 oil in and let it set till it dripped out the far end. I pulled out the cable and cleaned it and re-installed it then added more 3in1 oil.
Since getting my bike months ago I’ve done a list of things, clutch was about the biggest job. But this week I was together enough to catch-up and post wait I did this week. I’m sure I will fuss with something, but the next planned job is the replace the tires which are on back-order till Feb 10.
