Dont even ride it till you take it apart. There is an important oil pressure galley,(its right under the front 10mm dowel) thru the RH side cover that actually is the oil path to the crank, it squirts out the lower rod bearing, and thats also how the cyl wall get lubed. and if there is silicone plugging that up, your motor wont be happy for very long. My buddy showed me a 90 that some guy gacked on a bunch of silicone on the cyl base gasket, starved the head/cam. It actually lasted for a while, but the head/cam was a total loss.  tomsexpress link should be explored also to get your case to vent, not related to me hating silicone .. lol
