Just want to say a little something about replacement kick stater shafts. I couldn't find a new shaft for my K6, only on line used and an after- market shaft.I went for the new part, but usually am disappointed. I installed the part and experienced that you had to pump the starter a couple times before it would engage, then soon it had no engagement With the engine still out of the bike,I decided that I'd better take it apart again. Big job you have to be looking at the piston again and everything to get to it. I found that the spring on the new shaft [it came with the shaft] the one that engages the gear had fallen off. Looking at the original shaft I was going to put on the original gear and spring on, but the spiral on the gears were different. I did put the Honda spring on the new shaft- gear. the aftermarket spring was of a lighter gauge than the original. Not a lot of starts yet,but it's hanging in there. Hop
