I think you're right on that jet, Tom!

On your fuel issue it's all a balanced thing as mentioned elsewhere. If you miss even one air bleed or one part of jet then it cannot function right. The Pilot jet has a really tiny hole in jetholder/emulsion tube & in jet itself. Many might get the jet holder hole opened with a wire, and fail to open the actual jet's passage, or miss cleaning the crosswise holes in emulsion tubes.

Also the orifices for air bleeds are just as important, with carb having at least 4 if not more. Must be cleaned to wide open for the vacuum & pressure to do its thing. Carb insulator & gaskets, just as important, needing a perfectly air-tight seal. Also mentioned elsewhere, the carb spray cleaner should spray out at another point, not just splash back from wand tip when shot into an opening. If it doesn't then there's something plugged somewhere, sure thing.
