I did check that thread Allen and while it gave me good information it didn't really explain which type of cap is better for this application. I remember for my old GL500 we (or rather my boyfriend, I was very mechanically UNinclined not too long ago) removed the resistors from the plug caps and replaced them with a simple rod since at the time we were running a resistor-plug. I get that the resistor helps regulate the amount of current going to the plug itself (and thereby giving a stable spark) but is it necessary? According to NGK nomenclature the D8HA doesn't have a resistor, so would one be recommended for the plug boot?
