Thing is, vintage Hondas and all others all use a solid core spark wire, solid copper strands inside a rubber coating. That defeats the purpose of resistor type caps, as lowering radio interference. One of the main reasons all that came up is because non-resistor stuff was supposedly interfering with Law Enforcement & Emergency Responder radios. Translation: 100% BUNK! Same with resistor plugs, not ever used on Hondas before resistor plugs became all the rage for eletronics noise suppression. [Loved Glenn's reply at the link hah!]

The only real purpose the cap actually serves is to prevent arcing the spark to cylinder head because it's roughly 10,000 volts coming out of coil, searching for a home.

Oh, and not much choice on the spark lead: almost all coils have a molded-in sparkplug lead wire. That guarantees OEM's & aftermarket parts sellers that you'll have to buy a complete coil a$$embly of coil, wire & cap whenever there's a problem, instead of the MUCH cheaper alternative of just replacing the individual part as coil, wire or cap.
