Tom,

Oh, I'm not done. Actually, I think I'm learning patience trying to get the herd healthy. Bigger fish to fry.

The Xl 175 is here. Someone liked permatex on a couple seals. That stuff is so ugly and I don't recall it ever working as well as a gasket on a narrow bead. I don't think it'll be in the garage long. The engine otherwise really looks great and a good kickstart shaft on 'em is like a standing liberty quarter these days and worth more. The rear hub is incredible though the front end isn't an XL unit or is the hub. The carb looks great as well. I'd take a run at it if it weren't for so much of it being savaged. The wiring to the stator is fine but the rest is savaged. A buddy from work has already agreed to buy it for $200. That'll allow me to pick up some more CT90 parts.

If I could find another healthy intake boot, I might even put Lori's bike back on a factory setup once I get the other carb happy. I'd concluded there just wasn't anything that couldn't be repaired on these carbs with still available parts and it was that confidence that's kicking my butt. I prepared them with the best of the parts from the three units in what I perceived as identical in function though not appearance. I'm short on coping skills for losing. It'll get going.
