Yeah, I should have said for the U.S. based CT'ers.

Our vehicle traffic conditions on pavement, I'm talking about 2 lane roads in the U.S., are very different than the roads in other countries.

Generally our two lane, back country, out of the way, paved roads are not safe for slow moving, small motorcycles, especially in my home state of California where we often don't have any shoulder next to the pavement to pull over to get out of the way for fatser moving vehicles.

Several years ago a CT'er named Travis was making a trip from the U.S. east coast on his CT90 out to California to attend So Cal Tech Days. He went completely on two lane, back country, out of the way, paved roads. He never rode at night and had a 35 mile (or so) rule, where he would stop and rest every 35 miles. He was a very safe rider, except for his thinking he could ride safely in the U.S. on two lane paved roads. He had multiple near misses where our U.S. paved roads didn't have any shoulder to pull off the pavement. In Texas, what most of us would think is a wide open and safe environment (similiar to Australia IMHO), he was rear ended, totaled the CT, and he spent about a month in the hospital. He lives to this day, but not the same guy as before.

Paved roads, just more needless government spending...
