Not necessarily for any additional speed, as the CT's were not really designed for higher speed, however, to be able to "power" up long pavement sections and keep the speed up with the flow of traffic.
The Honda you've got in there now is a 12 volt postie engine with no dual range sub transmission, right?
If YES, then can you tell any difference in the postie engine 12 volt charging system?
Is it doing everything the Lifan 12 volt charging system can do. All of the electrics, including the rider warming conveniences, are doing fine?
